Google sitemap generator for wordpress

This plugin will generate XML-sitemap which support by Google, Ask.com, Yahoo, and MSN Search. This will make sure your post is exposed to the search engine and user can reach them from search engine.

What is Sitemaps?

Accorging to sitemaps.org, sitemaps are an easy way for webmasters to inform search engines about pages on their sites that are available for crawling. The sitemap is a XML file which will contains your website link and metadata and search engine will use it to index your website. Using sitemaps can let crawlers done their job better.

How to use it?

  1. Download the plugin from here, extract it and upload to your wordpress’s plugin directory.
  2. Make sure your blog directory is writable. It is because this plugin will create two file name “sitemap.xml” and “sitemap.xml.gz”.
  3. Activate the plugin.
  4. Make a post and the plugin will automatic generate sitemap.xml file and send to Google.

Notes: In order to make sure this plugin works, you can goto “Options” -> “XML-Sitemap” and built the sitemap.xml file manually. If everything done without error, means your plugin work perfectly.

When you edit an existing post, this plugin will also send notification to those search engine and the crawler will come to your site.
