gDocsBar - Firefox sidebar to manage Google Documents
gDocsBar is a Firefox extension which add a sidebar so that user can access their Google Documents instantly when needed.
gDocsBar add functionality to your Firefox browser so that you can always access your Google Docs instantly. You can search through all your documents and filter them by type. You can also browse your documents by type, which means you can select only word documents or spreadsheets. Furthermore, you can sort the documents by title, date, or author.
The uploading process is pretty simple. You can drag-and-drop your documents from your computer to the bottom of the sidebar and these documents will automatically upload to your Google Docs account. Still remember the DocList Uploader which i introduce before? Both of them support drag-and-drop uploading, but i prefer gDocsList, as it can integrate with my Firefox.
Once installed, an icon will appear beside the address bar, which let you launch your gDocsBar. You can set the sidebar to open automatically when Firefox start (go to Tools -> Add-ons -> gDocsBar -> Options and then check Open sidebar when Firefox launch). Similar with other web applications, you can set gDocsBar to remember your account and password.
Some users may have concern about the security and privacy. Don’t worry, the credentials are sent using SSL, which is a secure connection. Your username and password will be stored in Firefox password manager. If you still worried about your password, uncheck the remember me checkbox.
I had try with Firefox 2.0.0.11 and it works perfectly. But, some users complain that gDocsBar is not compatible with Firefox 3 Beta. If you are Firefox 3 user and found any issue, please let us know.
