ClickTale let you record visitors’ actions as they browse your website and then watch the movie to understand their behavior. By doing so, you can understand their needs and improve your website’s usability.

ClickTale

I had cover Clicky before, which is a web2.0 analytics program for your blog/website. Clicky comes with a Spy feature, which let you to view your visitors’ click live. But, Clicky cannot record their activities. So, if you want to watch your visitors’ activities, you may want to try ClickTale, which will show their mouse movements, clicks, and even scrolling action!

ClickTale offers both free and paid plan. The price is ranging from $19 per month to $99 per month. You can get more information from their pricing page. The free plan only allow you to add 2 domains, with maximum 100 recordings per week.

ClickTale is different with the traditional web analytics because the traditional web analytics provide aggregated visitor data across web pages while they provide information about individual visitor’s behavior. This is an advantage especially for those who want to analyze their visitors’ activities.

After you create your account, ClickTale will provide you a small piece of javascript code. The javascript code will collects the necessary data and then send to ClickTale servers for processing. Your visitors will not notice any difference in their browsing since ClickTale is optimized to minimize the use of CPU and bandwidth. You can view their FAQ to learn more about the features.
