This tutorial will discuss how to create a “hidden” folder with a blank name and no icon, so that nobody will know the existence of that folder.
There are a lot of methods to make your folder invisible. The easiest way is to set the property “hidden” to true. Else, you can get some softwares to do it for you. Now, i would like to discuss another method.
Step 1
Right click on anywhere and choose New -> Folder.
Step 2
Rename the folder. When you rename, delete the original name, hold your “alt” key and press “0160“. This will create a blank name for your folder.
Step 3
After that, right click on your folder and choose Properties. Choose Customize and then press Change Icon button. Select a blank icon from the list. Now, you had successfully create a hidden folder.
People will not know the existence of the folder, even they set to view invisible folder. This is because your folder has no icon and no name!

My advise
Try to put the hidden folder at the middle of your desktop, so that no one will accidentally select them. To make your folder more secure, you can check the “hidden” property.

If you use a lot of USB device, i believe you will use “Safely Remove Hardware” very frequently. But if you have a lot of tray icons, you probably need to take some time to find the “Safely Remove Hardware” icon. So, why not create a desktop shortcut to remove USB devices?
Step 1
Right click on your desktop and choose New -> Shortcut.
Step 2
Type “RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll” for the location. After that, change the name of the shortcut. I had rename it to “remove USB“.
Step 3

You had created your shortcut. Now you can double click it and remove and USB device as normal. This method works on Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista.
Note: If you face any problems when removing your USB devices, you can try unlocker.

The middle mouse button has some special features that we may not know, or being disabled by default. Now, i would like to introduce some cool tips to use your middle mouse button in Firefox.
There are few settings that you can make through about:config (type about:config in the address bar and hit enter):
- middlemouse.contentLoadURL – If you set this to true, when you click the middle mouse button, Firefox will load the clipboard content as a URL. For Linux, this setting is true by default, but seems like doesn’t work for Windows.
- middlemouse.openNewWindow – By default, this is set to true, which will open a new tab when you middle click on a URL.
- middlemouse.paste – By default, this is set to false. If you set to true, click the middle button will paste your clipboard content to the text box.
Beside this, you can also close any tab page by use the middle mouse button.
If you know more tips or features of middle mouse button, please leave a comment here and share with us. Thanks.

This tutorial will discuss on how to set the limit of suggestions for the address bar. It is very annoying if the suggestion list is too long. So, we try to limit the number of suggestion URL.
Steps to follow
- Open your Firefox 3 and type about:config in the address bar and hit enter.
- Unlike Firefox 2, there is a warning message before you can enter the configuration list. Press the “I’ll be careful, I promise!” button to continue.
- Type browser.urlbar.maxRichResults in the Filter bar and press enter.
- Double-click the browser.urlbar.maxRichResults and set the value to 3 (you can put any value, this is the maximum suggestions that Firefox 3 will gives you).
- RestartFirefox to take effect.
Below is the screenshots for both before and after the configuration change:

As you can see, the address suggestion become 3. I don’t know how they sort the suggestion list. If you want to have more control over the suggestion, you can try Autocomplete Manager.

There are a lot of tricks and tips that can make your firefox run faster. But some of them are quite confusing. So, i would like to compile a list of useful tips which can really help firefox users to increase the browsing speed.
First of all, you need to go into firefox configuration by enter about:config in the address bar.
Tip 1:
Type network.http.pipelining in the filter bar and set it to true.
Tip 2:
Type network.http.pipelining.maxrequests in the filter bar. The default value is 4. Change it to 8. You can also change this value to larger number, which means firefox will make more requests at once.
Tip 3:
Type network.http.proxy.pipelining in the filter bar and set it to true.
Tip 4:
Type network.dns.disableIPv6 in the filter bar and set it to true.
Tip 5:
Type plugin.expose_full_path in the filter bar and set it to true.
