Posted by Lim on Oct 2nd, 08 | Filed under Cool Stuff, Gmail, Internet, Tips | 2 Comments

Sometimes, my freinds keep sending or forwarding meaningless emails to me, which really annoying me especially when i was busy. But the problem is i don’t know how to ask them to stop doing so ( actually some of the mails do bring me some info, but most of them just wasting my time!).

As i go through this article, i found StopForwarding.Us may help me. Simply provide your friend’s name and email address, and it will send an email to your friend and ask them to stop forwarding meaningless emails. Your freind will not know who is the person that complain about his/her action and most probably they will though someone is spying on their computer!

Your friend will receive an anonymous email which ask them to stop spamming/forwarding emails and he will recognize his errors in sending those meaningless emails. This is the email that he will receive.

I personally think that it would be better if let us to include our name or email. So that our friend can only exclude our name in their “mailing list” while let the others interested people still able to read their mails.

Sometimes, we want to sign up for a web service, but were hesitate to giving out our email address because it may brought us a lot of spam mails. There are a few solution to this question.

Use a disposable email address

There are a lot of disposable email that you can choose. Guerrilla Mail and Mint email are the examples. When you visit Mint email, you will get a random email address. When you want to sign up any service, just use the random email address. Normally, these email will last for few hours. Some of them even provide automatic email verification. By using such service, you real email address will never appear on the spammer list.

Use temporary email forwarding service

This is the service which will create an temporary email account for you ( but you need to provide your real email account for them). Then you use the temporary email account to sign up anything you want. After that, all emails received by the temporary email will automatically forwarded to your real email account. Melt Mail is a website which provide this service.

Conclusion

I personally recommend the first solution. You still have to provide your email address to the temporary email forwarding service. Who knows they will sell your email address to others company? But the advantage of the second service is, you still can save your registration email in your own inbox, but you won’t get them if you use the disposable email address.

Spam Proof eMail Generator is a free service which will convert your email address to an image, which then allow users to embedded it in forum or website, so that spam bot can’t collect your email address when they crawl the website.

The spam bots search the websites and create mailing list to send the spam. They take the email addresses written on your website page in text format and send you spam emails. This make us dare not to provide our real email address in any forums or websites.

But, Spam Proof eMail Generator comes out with a great idea – convert the email address to image format. This make spam bot can’t read the email address when they crawl a website.

Spam Proof eMail Generator

Although some may say that spam bots can get pass CAPTCHA, sure they can pass through the image email address. But, at least the image email address can protect and prevent some of the spam bots to read your email address, isn’t it?

I hope that the author of this website can add some features and make the text inside the image harder to read. For those who know Photoshop or Paint.NET, you probably can create a similar image by your own. But for those who don’t know how to use these softwares, you may try it.
