Although we don’t know when is the actual release date of Windows 7, but there are some Windows 7 wallpapaers around the internet. Some of them are taken from the leak version, while some are made by designers around us.

DrPic – AJAX photo editing tool

There are a lot of web based photo editing tool, such as Pixlr, Sumo Paint, PhotoShop Express, Picnik, and etc. These application required no installation, and cross-platform. As long as you have Flash plugin installed and an internet enabled PC, you can use them.

Dr. Pic is another web based photo editing tool, which doesn’t require Flash plugin – It use AJAX!

There are a lot of things that you can do with this AJAX photo editing tool, for example resize, crop, rotate, brush, sharpen, oil paint, and etc. After editing the image, you can save it as jpg, bmp, gif, and png format. You may also choose the quality of the saved image.

It is useful if you use a computer which doesn’t install Flash plugin. But since Dr. Pic using AJAX, i believe some old browser like IE5 may not rander it well. So ,you better use a modern browser like Firefox 3 or IE7.

Pixlr is a new web-based image editor. Its interface is pretty simple, and the loading speed is very fast. There are some other similar services which i introduce before, such as Sumo Paint, Photoshop Express, Splashup, and Picnik.

There are a lot of tools which you can use. For example, they provide marquee tool, stamp tool, blur tool, filter, and even add new layer to the image!

The entire application is based on flash and contains almost all features of a basic image editing sotfware. You may give it a try if you want a simple yet fast web based image editing tool.

Fumpr claims itself as the world fastest photo storage provider. Users can upload photos to the website and then share with other users, or make the photos private.

You can upload up to 8mb of photos at one time and these photos will be store forever. The photo upload must be in either JPG, GIF or PNG format (i wonder why they can’t support bitmap format?).

After you upload the photos, you will get the embeded code for forum, thumbnail, and direct download access. You can then share them with your friends through different links provided.

Users are encourage to register an accoutn to keep track of all photos uploaded.

IconExtract is able to extract any icons/cursors from files. It is able to scan and extract icons from exe, dll, ocx, and cpl file types.

What will you do when you saw an interesting icon or cursor from a file? You probably want to grab the image, but how to grab it?

This free utilities from nirsoft.net will helps you to scan and extract any icon or cursor from the given file. Simply launch the application, drag and drop the file to it, and the application will scans and shows you the icons and cursors in the files.

You may right-click and choose to save the icon to a file (.ico format), or you may select copy to clipboard. After copy to your clipboard, you may use your favorite image editor software to edit and save in your desired format.

This is a portable application. So you can always bring it along with your USB flash drive.

Sumo Paint – Powerful web based image editor!

Sumo Paint was built using Adobe Flash and it lets users to create and modify image online. It even lets users to upload image from their own computer.

Although the entire website (including its main page) was built using flash, but the loading speed is quite fast, which is an advantage compare to other flash-based application.

If you have a powerful GPU, you can try Pictomio. It is a simple photo collection and viewing application which utilize the power of GPU.

Pictomio comes will a lot of features. For example, you can rate your image, image/video management, liquid-zoom, albums, categories, and much more. Pictomio also supports different language.

In order to use Pictomio, your graphic card must support ShaderModel 2.0 and at least 128MB ram. It is a free application, but unfortunately they only available for Windows machine. Perhaps Linus version will be available soon.

There are a lot of online tools which can edit/modify/add special effects to your pictures. WaveMyPic is one of the example which can add lake effect. Simply upload any pictures and wait for the output to come out.
