Civil NetizenThere are lots of online private file sharing. I had cover some of them, including Adobe SHARE, EatLime, and PipeBytes. PipeBytes is a service which just provide a platform for user to send file through their website but they won’t store the file in their server. But, what happen if you want to share file with your friends but lazy to go through long steps or you want the download process can be resume if your internet connection get interrupted? I believe PipeBytes can’t give us these 2 features.

Civil Netizen is another file sharing tool which provide a lot of features, including a built-in download manager which can resume the download process after the internet being interrupted. Furthermore, the traffic between senders and recipients are being encrypt using 128-bit encryption. Civil Netizen support up to 4GB for total size and also preserves the folder structure.

How it works?

So, how Civil Netizen works? There are totally 4 steps involved, 2 for senders, 2 for recipients.

  1. Pack – Drag-and-drop files that you would like to share, and give your parsel a name. You can add multiple files or folders and the folder structures will be kept.
  2. Send – After you can create your parsel, you can start sending them to your friends by giving them the pickup slip. There are few options that you can choose from, either use your primary desktop email client or through IM.
  3. Pickup – When your friends get the pickup slip, they can start picking up your files by pasting the pickup slip text.
  4. Unpack – After your friends finish download the files, they can then unpack the parsel and browse the parsel’s contents.
