Fastcopy is an application which can copy or move files rapidly from one location to another location. It is a free application which you can bring it along with your USB flash drive.
There are lots of application which claims that they can increase the files copy speed, such as Killcopy, Teracopy, and Fastcopy. I haven’t try Killcopy and Teracopy (you can get the introduction of teracopy through makeuseof.com). I had decided to continue with Fastcopy once i read the introduction of this application from their main page.

As this is a portable application, so you can bring it along with you. But, if you want to enable the right-click context menu, i think you better install it to a fix location (you can click the setup.exe to install).
When you launch the application, you need to choose the source and the destination folder before you continue. You can actually drag-and-drop files/folder to the textbox. There are few operation modes that you can choose, but normally we will choose Diff (Size/Date), which means that if there are same filenames, it copies only when the size or date is different. There are few more advanced features which we normally left it by default. After it, you can click the Execute button to start your copy/move job.
There are 3 special features that Fastcopy has:
- You can drag-and-drop files/folders to the textbox of Source or Destination.
- You can choose to add Fastcopy to your right-click content menu.
- This is a portable application, you can bring it along with your USB flash drive.
By default, the right-click content menu is not activated. You can activate it by choose Settings -> Shell Extension, and then click Install. Tips: You can use Fastcopy to delete your files. Simply right-click the files/folders and choose Delete (Fastcopy).
Conclusion
I had try Fastcopy for a few times and i found that the speed will increase with the time and will reach the maximum speed at around 21-23MB/s. I wonder why the Fastcopy developer don’t implement the Pause feature. I believe the other similar applications will have this feature, right? But since this is a freeware, i don’t think i should complain so much, but this is just a suggestion.
