Flickr Downloader - Find and download Flickr image quickly
Flickr Downloader is an application which can search Flickr’s images and then save to your PC. You can also add tags to these images.
I had cover Save2pc before, which let you download Youtube videos. Now i would like to introduce another application for you to search and download images from the largest photo sharing service, Flickr.
Flickr Downloader is a free application and is a browser-like application. It take few seconds to install and configure and it support both Windows XP and Vista. After you install the software, you need to set the download picture size and picture output folder. Screenshot below show the settings:
After you finish the settings, you can proceed to search and download images. When you open Flickr Downloader, you will found that it actually look like internet explorer. The main difference is that it provide a search box for you to search through Flickr database and another search box for you to search the downloaded images.
The main advantage of this application is that it let users to quickly save the images into the output folder, and provide the tags so that users can search the saved images locally in future.
As shown in the screenshot above, you can change the saved image size to either Current, Large, or Original. You can also set the tags for the image. The 2 images shown at the bottom are the search result for “scene” from my computer. Double-click these images will open them.
This is a very good application for Flickr user, but according to gHacks, it is better if Flickr Downloader is a plugin for Firefox or Opera, rather than as a standalone application. For me, since it is a free software, i not really care whether it is a plugin or standalone application.
