Pixlr is a new web-based image editor. Its interface is pretty simple, and the loading speed is very fast. There are some other similar services which i introduce before, such as Sumo Paint, Photoshop Express, Splashup, and Picnik.

There are a lot of tools which you can use. For example, they provide marquee tool, stamp tool, blur tool, filter, and even add new layer to the image!
The entire application is based on flash and contains almost all features of a basic image editing sotfware. You may give it a try if you want a simple yet fast web based image editing tool.

We use Microsoft Office everyday. There are a lot of features that are hidden by default, and we need to manually enable them so that they appear at the toolbox button. One of the example is the calculation feature.
Step 1
First of all, click the “Customize Quick Access Toolbar” button and choose “More Commands…”

Step 2
After that, select the Calculate from the list and press the “Add>>” button.

Step 3
Then, you may start to provide some formula, highlight it and press the “Formula” button at the Quick Access Toolbar. Microsoft Word will calculate the result and save at clipboard. Then, press the “Paste” button and the result will appear.

Sometimes, when you want to open your PDF or Word documents at others’ computer but unfortunately the comuter doesn’t have such application to open them (although this is very rare case).
So, what you going to do? If your document is PDF format, you may download Foxit Reader to open it. But if the document is Word format, how you are going to open it? Download the OpenOffice and install at that computer? It is impossible for us to download the whole application for just want to open a file right?

So, maybe you can try the online File Viewer for PDF, Word and PosiScript service. You may need to upload the documents from your local drive, but i am not sure about the maxuimum file size allowed. As you can see from the screenshot, there are some control buttons on the left hand side of the documents.
This Online File Viewer actually convert the PDF and PostScript documents into image and display to the users. These documents are keep in the server and will be deleted 3 days after the last view.

Email has become an important tool for all of us. We send and receive a lot of emails everyday as it slowly will become a replacement for the traditional mail.
However, we will also receive more and more spam mail, and we may want to protect or hide our real email address when signup something.
So, we may try akapost, a service which will protect your email address. Once you singup for the service, you will be given an email address (username@akapost.com). Every email that send to this address will be forwarded to your own email address.

Beside this, you can also send email by using your akapost account. Your recipients will never know your real email address. The sender of the email will appear as “username@akapost.com”. This means that you will never make your email address public.
Although akapost is free, but you only can add 1 email address. If you want to have more emaill address under your account, you may try tehir paid plan.
