2 online service to create free favorite icon

favikon.com and favicon.cc are free services to help bloggers/web designers to create favorite icon quickly.

With favikon.com, you need only 2 steps to create favorite icon. You can either upload image from your computer or paste the image URL. The maximum size for the image is 5MB. After the image is loaded, you can see your image at the right hand side and you can drag the shaded region to any part of the image which you want to use for your favorite icon. You can change the size of the region to cover more area. After it, press the Capture & Preview button and you can see a preview of your favorite icon together with its download link. The size of favorite icon is 16×16.

favicon.cc slightly different with service provided by favikon.com.favicon.cc mainly focus on let its users drawing their own icon. Although favicon.cc allow user to upload image, but it not allow users to change the region. They provide a live preview once to draw or change something. favicon.cc offer some extra features such as Latest Favicons and Top Rated Favicons, which let you to download icons created by other users.

Conclusion

Both favikon.com and favicon.cc target different users. If you would like to upload an image and extract a region to be your favorite icon, i would recommend favikon.com.       @Wing Loon: I believe favicon from htmkit.com offer more simple way to create favorite icon. It is suitable for people who just want to create favorite icon from any image which does not want to do any editing.

      I have a favicon but only users with Mozilla only can view it but not IE readers. Does anybody here know how to settle this problem? Thanks
